What is my DVD to TV problem?

Is the dvd recorder output display resolution supported by the tv? if it isnt then plug it in to another tv and go into options on the dvd recorder and change it to one that is (should be instructions in the manual). This is the problem i had when plugging my pc into my 32" sony bravia
