Computer parts are they compatible?

Yep you should be fine with this setup, however if you are going with an AMD processor, I would recommend going with a video card in the Radeon series rather than the GTX 460. It will still work fine, but since AMD manufactures both the Phenom processors and the GPU's in the Radeon cards, they might work a little better together.
